Brothers James and William Rayawan cofounded Hyoshii Farm in 2021 with their college friend Anthony Lee. The Indonesian agri-biotech company is developing strawberry seeds suited for the country’s tropical climate. Hyoshii strawberries, which the company says are as sweet as imported strawberries but cheaper, are sold at premium supermarkets in Indonesia and supplied to bakeries and F&B companies. Besides running their own farm, the company sells seeds to farmers and buys their harvests. In March 2024, Hyoshii Farm announced pre-seed funding of an undisclosed amount.
